lower left back and side pain/discomfort

I have been experiencing a discomfort in my lower back/side for the last month or so. It is best described as discomfort that started out manifesting only when I stood or moved around for a period of time, in which I would then have to lean over a shopping basket or kitchen sick to manage. Now the pain is daily and it's progressed to where I can just be sitting down and I feel the discomfort. It is somewhat under my rib cage or so it seems. Not exactly painful but an intense pressure that cant be ignored. Do you have any idea as to what this could possible be?
