medicines for removing gallstones

Is there a medicine for removing or extracting Gallstones without surgery?
Avatar_dr_f_tn
Hi there,
Medicines like chenodeoxycholic acids or ursodeoxycholic acid are used to dissolve cholesterol gallstones. However, they may take 2 years or longer to work. There are also chances of recurrence after treatment.Laparscopic surgery is the best treatment option for gallstones. In this procedure there is use of small surgical cuts and there is fast recovery. You should discuss the available treatment options with your doctor and get your doubts clarified. Do keep us posted.
Best of luck and regards!
