morning sickness after the pregnancy

by atldsl, Aug 14, 2002 12:00AM
My wife was an active person, but at the age of 28 she became pregnant and soon after discovered she had a bad case of Hyperemesis.  She would throw up day and night the entire pregnancy.  Now that the pregnancy is over, she is still throwing up day and night, though there was some relief from having the baby.  She is worried that this will not subside since it has not as of yet.
Doctors have not been of help as of yet.  Any ideas?  She is Chinese in background.

How long has the pregnancy been over? Sometimes, the hormones can still make you sick.  Check with her OB, he should be able to tell you.

She had the baby August 8th.  She had an endoscopy, Gall bladder Ultrasound, blood work for thyroid, H Pylori etc.  The OBGYN assured her that as soon as she delivered she would feel fine.  But as it stands, she is vomiting 16 hours out of the day, every day.

I think that I would see another doctor. Maybe her regular GP.  She should be out from under the care of her OB except for the post exam.  I think anything else, I would check with her regular GP.  I hate that. I could not imagine being sick all the time. Good luck.
