My mother has been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver after years of heavy drinking. She also has lung disease. Both were found at the same time. She has stopped smoking but the drinking is worse. She is having trouble with her esophogus and will have an upper GI soon. I don't know how advanced this is but I could use some info and help in getting her to quit drinking. My father also drinks with her and is in denial when it comes to her illness. Any suggestions?
