mucus and bleeding

by Bethy, Apr 12, 2002 12:00AM
I'm a 19 year old female with no family history of colon cancer or cancer before 50.  My problem is that about a year ago i started passing mucus with my BM's.  At first i was freaked out, but figured it was probably IBS, as I had no other symptoms.  twice in the past couple months, the mucus has been pinky in colour on the toilet paper (both times were about a day after drinking alcohol). do i have cancer???

I have kinda had the same problem. Last week starting passing mostly mucos not much stool. This went on for 3 days. Then I passed mucus with blood in it and still am. Went to Dr. Gonna have colonoscopy. Let me know if anyone else has had this and what was the outcome.

Proctits (inflammation of the bowel) could be a cause for passing mucus and blood.

I've read that mucus can be IBS but the pink mucus bugs me, i'm really worried I have something like cancer.  Prissy, email me after you've got your results back k? I'm freaking out and I can't get in to the doc for a week. beth-***@****
