my nine month old daughter has c diff

I just found out that my nine month old daughter has c diff.  Is this something she was born with?  Her gastro doctor had her tested for this due to frequent vomiting (she still grew at an impressive rate and was in good spirits most days).  Is vomiting a common sympton of c diff in infants?  She is on antibiotics right now and I am very hopeful that this will cure her of her frequent vomiting.  Also, she has never had diarhea (diarrhea), as a matter of fact, she has been constipated since she was 3 months old and has been given a dose of Myrilax daily.  Can c diff also be the cause of constipation?  Everything I've read about the symptoms of this infection does not point to my daughter at all.  How did my daughter get this, and why doesn't she have any symptoms that are written everywhere I look?  Oh and she does not have blood in her stool...she was tested for that too

She hasn't been in the hospital or taken antibiotics, until now.  Oh geeeshh.  I put too much trust in doctors.  I thought this would be the reason for the vomitting and the cure.

Hi Mom...she may very well have C Diff present, Ive read that a high percentage of infants are born with it in their system.  Im surprised your doc didnt mention this.  Most dont get ill - and they "outgrow" it.  There is a support group online that can answer alot of your questions, and alot of posters there have infants that have had C Diff.  Drop me a message if you'd like the link.

Best of luck.

She has c Diff because she is on antibiotics.  Try putting a probiotic, dissolved pill in his/her formula or milk.  My daughter has it and I do that and feed her yogurt with probiotics in it.  She is 4 and has stomach cramps along with runny stool ( with mucus).  It has been 15 days since she has been on antibiotics and she is doing much better without being treated.  Make sure you use wipes, soap, and keep the area clean.
Good luck!
