(Actually this is about my daughter) She is 16 yrs old with elevated IGE of 23,000. We are desperate for some help. As stated previously we must moisturize her skin till the sun
does not shine -- it is on ending almost to the point of unrealistic. This is heavy on her s ... [More] houlders and has a major impact on her life at this point. She struggles to feel well and energy is a major problem. She was such a smart baby and child - in 3rd grade scored on a 12th grade level in language and this year as a junior will barely pass as she has missed so much school
which stresses her out. Please help as we are searching for some aide.
Upon testing she basically is positive to every food and every enviromental element in the universe. My theory is if we could find a way to lower this IGE which triggers this reading we could have our answers --- Is there no way to lower an IGE?? Do we really have no idea why the body triggers this? My daughter in Native American. I will do anything to help her and appreciate any help. Thank-You
I am sorry your daughter is suffering so. Since last year I had my son tested for food allergies and did not find an anwer to the high IgE levels and dermatitis. The allergist did say he has had very good success in providing relief in patients using Xolair. It is very expensive. My son also had acne and we started him on tetracycline and it seemed to clear up the dermatitis. We think he had a secondary skin infection that caused the awful itching
. Right now he still has high Ige and no explaination as to why. My Dr. has now directed me to the top expert on Atopic Dermatitus in the area he is David Khan, MD, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX 214-645-2866. Maybe he can help you. Good Luck.
