need a 2nd opinion

My Mom is 62 yrs old. She had her stomach stapled 24 yrs ago to lose weight. Well she developed cancer in the unused portion of her stomach and had the complete total gastrectomy. Shortly after coming home she got real week and wound up back in the hospital. Turns out she has a hole in the area that was connected and she can eat or drink something and it comes out in a tube they had to install to take care of the leak from the hole. The doctor tells her it will heal on its own but its not and she is not getting enough nutrition from the food or fluid she consumes since it just leaks out of her.. I need help, she is in West Virginia and I'm in California. What actions should we take? Thanks for any suggestions.
