nissen fundiplication

by medtech28, Jan 14, 2009 04:05PM
I just had the nissen fundiplication and I am severly down in the dumps about it.  I am a very active 34 year old male and have been suffering from the acid reflux for about 2 years.  All my test results were fine except for the 24 hour pH and my results were in the high 80's.  My gast docter said that I have no choice but to have had this surgery.  Since having this done I cannot eat much, dropped 14 lbs in 7 days, and am depressed about the food.  One of my hobbies is cooking and eating so this is kicking my butt.  My questions are:

Does this last forever??

How long till I can eat??

Do people return to normal??

What are future restrictions??

Any comments would be appreciated.
