I know this is not a glamorous topic however I had my galbladder removed on March 5th 2008 due to multiple galstones and extream pain. since then i still cant eat much of anything no appetite but i do eat a healthy diet. I have had HORIBLE diareha for 3 days now and now it has alot of mucus in it. I called the doc and they said someone will call me back but they rarely do call me back. they were suposed to do blood work cause he thought at my post opp i had an infection cuzz i have fever
and stuff. they gave me this stuff to pit in my water and it is suposed to harden my stools if i take it im constipated and if i dont i have diareaha again. I have really bad stomach cramps too. I am also weening off of the pain meds i have been on. I just dont know if this is normal or not.
Hey, get mean with your doctors. That's my advice. Tell them if anything happens to you because they are negligent you will sue them! Okay, maybe not that mean but get meaner. And I'm not a lawyer. I just think sometimes we don't squeek enough and get overlooked.
Thank you. i have tried the nice card started with the im not hanging up till you get someone on the phone card today. HOWEVER i am at work and had a resident so 45 mins into it had to hang up. rgghhh.. thank you for your feed back
though. When I couldn't get through to my doctor I went to a completely different clinic and got immediate help for my syptoms (symptoms) and got the gastroparesis
diagnosis that I'm being treated for now. My first doctor was not happy that I went somewhere else but it's your health and you have to be your own advocate. I'd get a second opinion immediately!
i am going to look into that tomm. I just dont get the lack of give a **** i thought you got into the business to help people but all i see is there backs. thank you guys. I appreciate it
(google symptoms). Also, go into your doc's office or a walk-in clinic and announce loudly you think you may have C Diff (if your symptoms match) - they'll see ya real fast. Best of luck to you.
I had these same exact problems as you after my surgery.
My doctor finally put me on Questran Powder. It saved me! The problem is that you are no longer producing bile which can cause massive diahrrea. I could not eat anything for so long, basically stayed on a liquid diet (soup, jello etc.).
Ask your doctor about this, it doesn't hurt to try.
I am going to google that now. my doc said he wanted to do lab work but never did. he said he thought i had some type of infection from the surgery and then he walked me out the door. I was confused but also in alot of pain just wanted to go back to bed. I was on constant antibiotics in the hospital thru IV but not since then. Thank you for your comment
