omentum surgery for metabolic syndrom(syndrome)

by grasshopper74, Sep 19, 2008 01:16AM
I hear there is experimental surgery where the omentum is detached from the stomach and some is removed. I hear type 2 diabetes stops immediatly. Im wondering if the omentum may be the cause of the inflamatory agent doctors have told me about that causes hardening of the arteries. It sound like this "organ" may be responsible for alot of problems. Does anyone have any information on the surgery or the theries about omentum removal. I understand it is impossible to remove the whole thing as there are many blood vessels running through it. Also is it really needed for a shock absorber of the organs? Do we really need any visceral fat?
