only distilled/water without sodium doesn't upset my stomach. Any ideas why?
I've been coughing/vomiting up clear, thick, sticky mucus after almost everything I eat. I'm assuming it's food allergies since I also get hives.
Usually whenever I drink a mouthful or more of water, even twice filtered water, my stomach starts feeling a little sore and sure enough i start coughing up the clear, slimy, (most of the time salty) gunk.
But as an experiment i tried distilled, no sodium water bottled from WalMart.. and within the first few mouthfuls my experience was definitely DIFFERENT.
I waited for the usual nagging feeling in my stomach and lower throat
.. never came. I started gulping the water. It never came. I tried just distilled water from Ralph's, but immediately I noticed that familiar feeling again.
I thought distilled water meant the sodium was extracted as well? Apparently not, because the taste is completely different than the distilled, sodium free version.
Ohmigod! I thought I was alone in this. I have tried filtered tap water and all types of bottled water and I start getting stomach distress and post-nasal drip! I haven't tried distilled water yet but after reading your post and looking at other websites, I am going to try it. Have you received any responses on why this happens?? Wendy
and stomach start hurting. I was thinking it was food allergies but it hurts mostly when I drink water (and eat some foods). Sometimes when I drink in the morning it feels like knives going down my throat
(sorry to be graphic). I am going to try the no sodium distilled water. Thanks for posting. If anyone has more info please write. I am a bit desperate and the doctors here are no help at all.
