orange, pale stools

orange, pale stools

hello,

I am sick and scared and don't know what to do.  My feces have become orange-tainted (at times yellowish), pale, sometimes clay colored like putty, sink to the bottom like not before and are in little pieces like a pile of soft rocks.  I see food in them like rice, beans, carrots and sometimes little black specks of unknown origin.  I have severe abdominal pain, feel extremely weak, bags under my eyes, getting pale.

I have been taking Ativan for 14 months and am trying to go off.  They tried detoxing me a few months ago to no avail and this is when things got really bad GI wise and they had to reinstate.  My upper right side hurts the worst.  I am sore all over.  They have tested my liver.  My bilirubin is always on the verge of being too high and my liver enzymes seem to be decreasing.  I can't even take my vitamins anymore and have been found to have a severe vitamin D deficiency and my vitamin B has fallen 800 points in 4 months.  I know Ativan withdrawals can be rough but I wonder if there's not something else also happening.  I get sick now sometimes when I take the Ativan.  I feel really nauseous.  My periods have vanished.  I constantly think I'm going to faint and pass out on the street.  My doctor is sending me for a colonoscopy but from what I know, shouldn't I be tested for further liver problems and more of an endoscopy?  They are sending me to a gastroenterologist after the procedure, ruling out cancer.  I am only 30, but some in my family have died young from this.  I have Celiacs...am gluten free.  I cannot increase Ativan or benzos as they severely depress me and I have become unable to take any meds to help with that.  I am having chemical reactions to everything.  I am really afraid.  Any ideas?

thanks-
Beth
