pain after almost 7 weeks

by bella229, Aug 12, 2008 09:29AM
At the end of June, I went to my doctor for abdominal pain and had a cat scan done.  it showed diverticulitis.  he put me on flagyl and cipro for ten days. Also, told me to eat a low residue diet.  i felt better for a few days and started have severe pain again.  i went for another cat scan which showed diverticulitis in another area.  i was on the antibiotics for another 10 days.  i felt better for a few days and then again would have a day or two of pain - mostly in the lower abdominal area and sometimes around to my lower back.  two weeks ago, i had severe pain and a fever of 100.3.  the next day, the pain had subsided and i again felt better for about four days.  the pain came back and i went to see my doctor last wednesday.  i had also gone for blood tests, which were basically normal.  he told me that after being on antibiotics for a long period, you sometimes develop diarrhea and that sometimes, the antibiotics kill the bacteria that belongs in your colon.  he told me to start eating my high fiber diet again and has me taking florastor for 3 months. I felt good for 4 days and was in pain again last night.  what should i do next????
