pain in lower right abdomen

I don't know if this my issue falls under gastroenterology but here it is...About a month and a half ago I started having a burning sensation in my lower right abdomen.  The pain was pretty steady but I noticed it would flare up most often when I got up to walk at work.  After a week of this I went to the doctor, and they stated that my ascending bowel was slightly emlarged and I had constipation, even though I had regular movements daily (usually one a day).  They put me on Mike of Magnesia for a week after that.  The pain seemed to go away for a little while until today again, it is the same pain in the same place, if you mapped it by my navel it would be about 1.5-2 inches below and about 3-3.5 inches to the right.  Once again I have been going regularly (now 1-2 times a day and normal amounts) the only difference seems to be that the circumference is larger and therefore harder to eliminate.  As a result I have been straining a bit to relieve myself but I would definitely not consider myself constipated due to the amount I am going on a daily basis.  I am wondering what this could be...

On the spot you've described there're appendix and the last part of the small intestine, called terminal ileum. Appendix could be chronically inflamed - this would be probablly seen by CT. Terminal ileum is often inflamed in Crohn's disease - this would be seen during colonoscopy.

Both above conditions would likely cause some detectablke changes in the blood.

In a woman, an ovarian cyst or tumor could cause such a pain. This could be detected by an ultrasound.

I do not believe that it is gas, I am not bloated and they took an xray when I went in to the doctor last month and found that my intestine had a moderate amount of stool in it but they did not feel it was gas at that time.

Male, female? Would you say you are bloated - could that enlargement be gas?
