pancreatic sten

by babocajon, Mar 16, 2009 06:15PM
I've been diagnosed with SOD.  My CBD is dilated and my CA19-9 continues to rise  slightly.  My history is one of renal cell carcinoma 13 years ago.  I've been CA free since then.

I had a failed sphincterotomy 3 weeks ago.  I was hospitalzed following the procedure for acute pancreatitis.

I am scheduled to attempt this procedure again, but this time, it will be at Stanford and the doctor will place a stent prior to attempting the sphincterotomy.

Does anyone have experience having this procedure(s) done with the doctors at Stanford and if so, what type of results did you have?

And, any thoughts on the "rising" CA19-9?

thanks
