pancreatic stent

pancreatic stent

10 years ago after having my gall bladder removed I continued to have pain. There were never any stones, the gall bladder stopped functioning. Had an ERCP with stretching of the pancreatic duct and developed pancreatitis. For the last year I have been to the ER or hospital 7 times with severe chest pain on the right/middle. Have been to several Gastroenterologist, Cardiologist, PCPand several test of which the last was a MRCP. It showed pappilary stenosis. Was sent to a specialist for a stent placement. He confirmed I needed a stent. I also have Fibromyalgia, severe GERD, and several other GI issues. My question and concern is, what other options are there? From what I've been reading the stents have to be removed or passed. Would a better choice be the dilation? Can't deal with the pain, but don't want to have pancreatitis again if I have to have another ERCP to remove the stent. The physician said that there was a 90% chance I'd get pancreatitis again. Please advise!!!
