to go down before the appendix was removed laparascopically on Dec. 3rd. That all went well, but I've had intestinal swelling and digestive problems ever since I first got the infection and they're not getting any better. When the cat scan was taken to determine that the appendix was ruptured, the Dr. asked if I had Crohn's (I don't, and never have.) Evidently, the intestines were very swollen. Since then, they've remained swollen and have been pretty spastic, alternating between constipation and occasional diarrhea, with lots of mucus and some clear, membranous looking things coming out. Haven't had a single firm, normal stool since getting the appendicitis, and stooping, bending, or activity seems to make the swelling and discomfort worse. I'm trying to get in to a gastroenterologist (got scoped by one 2 years ago; at the time, intestines were normal, except for some a bit of diverticulosis) because I don't think this is normal. My incisions from the laparascopic surgery stopped hurting a while ago, but my intestines are giving me all kinds of grief.
