I have been suffering from major upper stomach gurgling for a while now (abt 6 mths)and some nausea, i had fundoplications surg. 4 years ago, I am Female 33, widowed with 4 kids. I get most of the discomfort on my left side about 2" up and 2" to the left of the belly button. I think it may be partly due to stress, i just had a upper gi done 3 weeks ago (no results yet)so i am assuming everything is fine, but i have made a appt for thurs to go and make sure, the dr. put me on paxil a few weeks ago but the side effects for me were horrible i felt more aniexty than before, i am really stressing here I am sick and tired or feeling sick and tired. i take a mild traq. when really bad and that helps, any ideas?? do you think it is stess? any idea what to do ??

It could be partly stress. It is also possible that you suffer from gas-bloat syndrome (your fundoplication is too tight). It is possible to have the fundoplication dilated with a dilator, to stretch the opening a bit. This may help. I think if you have to take the Tranquelizer to feel better, take it as long as you need it, Quality of life is important. Anxiety can cause alot of symptoms. Be sure to consult with your doctor about all these issues. Good luck.
