Ok so I know this is so disgusting, but I need to know whether its worth it for me to go to the doctor or not. I am not positive but I think I may have a pinworm
infection. I work at a public golf course so its very possible that I contracted it from work or any other public place I guess. I guess I need to describe what's happening in detail in order to get a good response so sorry if its a little graphic! Ok- so I have been noticing little white pieces of stuff on the toilet paper when I wipe my butt. Usually when I pee, after I've wiped there I will wipe out back too just to make sure everything is clean- and this is when I'm noticing these white/tanish/greyish pieces of stuff on the clean toilet paper. I don't really have any itching
at all, and I will & have noticed these pieces at any and all points of the day, but not every day- maybe once a week. I looked up pictures of pinworms
online and the ones I have dont look as long as those pictured, they are more short and stubby. So I guess what I'm asking is, is it possible that these pieces could be because of a hemorrhoid & thats just extra skin shedding from around it? or excess toilet paper? (I use regular old scott toilet paper at home- not that soft stuff that disintegrates) or should I just suck it up and go to the doctor? I live in a small town and its sort of like going to your neighbor for an exam, which is pretty embarrassing. Should I just go ahead and buy the otc medicine and treat for pinworms
is a good idea. You could also consider that a lot of times after we do number two, some waste and dried liquid will collect on our behinds, and that's probably what your toilet paper is picking up. So, when you have your usual number two, for a second wipe use damp toilet paper with a little plain KY jelly from the drugstore on there, it'll help clean it thoroughly. To prevent runny sort of waste and a cleaner exit in general, eat more fiber foods, like oat cereal, wheat bread, and salads, and get enough water to drink. If it doesn't get better after you use the pinworm stuff, it is okay to go to the doc, they keep all things private, I had a similar problem when I was young and worried myself sick over it, when it turned out to be a perfectly routine visit (docs have seen it all) and in fact turned out to be important for my health.
