post gall bladder removal problems

Sir,
I am 68 years old. My gall bladder was removed in April 09, since it was found, after many tests, that there was puss formation in it.About 4 bottles of puss was also removed. Subsequent tests alsö revealed that there was stone in the bile duct, which was also removed. The whole operation was conducted by eminant doctors. Since then, apart from occasional spasms in the chest region, I was feeling well. I continued with the prescribed medication for about 3 months. This was in Mumbai,India.
Now , I have come to reside with my son in Beijing, China. The climate here is extremely cold ( minus temperatures ). I am now facing a great problem of constipation. I am also taking prednesolene ( wysolene 5 mg ) daily for other ailments for the last 10 years. My immediate problem is constipation. Inspite of taking all sorts of medicines ( encelax ) and various other medicines, I am not able to get motions for 3 to 4 days at a strech. Also when I get, the quantity is very less compared to the intake of food. I consume normal food, like wheat indian breads, vegetables, dal, soups, etc., mostly vegetarian and some times chicken dishes. However , since coming to Beijing, There has been a lot of gas formation and the gas passes out throughout the day in large amount, daily. I remain totally restless because of this situation of passing lot of gas, without any motion .  Somewhere in my mind, I have a fear ,whether this situation will lead to formation of puss in my body , as was the case earlier.  ( My doctors in India did not tell me the reason for the formation of puss in the gall bladder earlier in April 09. Earlier to April 09 also I was in Beijing for 2 months. Jan. to March 09. ).  I would therefore request you to advise me on the following points:
   1. What course of medicine and diet should I have to relief from constipation.
   2. Whether the large gas formation is okay as long as it passes out.
   3. Whether the food that goes into the system and remains inside ( because of not having motions ), can create
puss in any part of the body.

       Eagerly waiting for advice.
Regards.
Shashi.
