post gallbladder pain,swelling

I had lap surgery on April11th. Had staples removed last week. I still have pain and swelling the size of a golfball on navel and below it. When I lie down,it goes down. No fever or redness present. Any ideas or anyone else have that too with this surgery? Thank you. sandy

Did you mention this to your doctor when you had the staples removed?  I'm wondering if you don't have an incisional hernia.  Another possibility is a simple collection of a small amount of blood in the area.  That happened to me after gb surgery (in the naval incision), and thankfully my doctor noticed it and warned me it might open up.  It did.  I was in the shower and all at once blood seemed to be everywhere!  Had the doc not told me what to expect, I would have freaked.  It only took a few minutes to finish draining and all was well after that.
