I have suffered with chronic sharp burning pain in my right upper side just under my ribRib cage pain cage. The pain started after my gallbladder was removed orthoscopically. Very shortly after the surgery I lifted my dog and felt a terring pain in my side, shortly after I had a feverAllergic rhinitis Coccidioidomycosis Febrile seizures Fever Fever blister Fever blisters and canker sores Herpes labialis (oral herpes simplex) Histoplasmosis Malaria Rheumatic fever Scarlet fever and infection. Dr put me on iv anti biotics and I felt much better unfortunately I was discharged to see a specialist to do an ercp. Since I was starting to feel much better with the iv anti biotics I wish my dr had let me stay in hospital with more iv anti biotics. ever since I have suffered with majorMajor tears Major-gesic pain. The ercp did not show any problems with the duct. What is a sod? Is it a diffeent proceedure than an ercp. I have a doc who is helping with some strong pain killers but, the dosage is to low and the pain is only numbed long enough to get throuogh my work day, after work I curl up on the couch and hug a heating pad until I take my bed time painkilller dose and go to sleep. What can I do?? Is this forever? From every one else here it sounds permanent.

Being tested for SOD is very different than just having and ERCP done. There's a step called manometry that needs to be done with the ERCP to be able to diagnose SOD - sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. If the doc suggested SOD, you need to be working with someone who specializes in SOD.
