I had gallbladder surgery a few months ago. They found that I had chronic cholisystitis and with that came a majorMajor tears Major-gesic thickening of the wall of the gallbladder. I felt really great after about 2 weeks (I was really sick and in quite a bit of pain afterwards) but for the last couple of weeks I have been experiencing pain right where the gallbladder used to be. I have not negatively changed my eating habits and have 4 kids to keep me really busy but I have gained about 8 lbs. in the last couple of months! Any thoughts????
According to my surgeon and different things I've read scar tissue doesn't show up on test of any kind so the only way to know for sure is to go in and look for it and if it is there remove it. I've also read, and tend to agree, that surgery is the cause and cure for scar tissue. Right now I am waiting to have the test so the gastro can see if it is SOD.
My pain is located under my right ribsRib cage pain where the gall bladder was removed. It is very sharp and stabbing and does not spread out. It gets so intense at times that it makes me very sick at my stomach and sometimes I throw up. These episodes last anywhere from 5 minutes or so up to 45 minutes and on a good day it hits me 4-5 times per day and other days 12-15 times per day.
It doesn't seem to matter what I eat and I have lost a few pounds but that is because I just don't feel like eating when I am hurting so badly. I certainly hope that you don't have scar tissue forming because it is a very vicious thing to have to deal with.
Could be phantom pains...Or adhesion which you can try to unglue by giving yourself deep (painful)massage in that area...Or use a medicine ball (for details go to ovarian cancer forum and look in archives for medicine ball, adhesion or post op pains)
