post surgical cholesystectomy pain

I am 12 days post op for cholesystectomy due to biliary dyskinisia.  My ejection fraction was 0. Having the laparascope, I expected to be relatively pain free by now; however,  I have severe burning, grabbing pain in my upper right quadrant that radiates to my lower right back.  Exercise (walking, bending, etc.) exacerbates the problem. My surgeon made mention of polymyocitis.  I have had a history of fibromyalgia that presented first after a laparotomy to remove a serous cyst adenoma.  I'm wondering if I need to see a gastroenterologist to r/o another problem with liver, sphincter of oddi

Then I think you should call your doc. They may 'brush' you off a bit, suggesting it's natural and you'll get over it. But the problem is that if you're taking narcotic-based pain relievers, they can raise the ductal pressures and if you are experiencing forms of spasms of the duct or sphincter, it could make things more uncomfortable.

If sludge escaped that could have started or perpetuate the pain. My suggestion would be to be a bit pushy and try to figure out with your doc's help what's going on early on and not wait.

You may want to ask to have your liver and pancreatic enzyme levels checked - at the very least.

I have been following a low fat diet during recoup.  The pain I have is continuous rather than after meals.  Pain medication has not helped much and so sleep has been minimal.  The intense pain began about 3 days ago after taking a walk.

There was a little bit of sludge found in my gallbladder

Consider following a low fat diet and see if that's of help. You may have trouble digesting/processing fats.

Also, ask your doc if any sludge was found, and if so, was the common bile duct swept for particulate matter before they closed you up.
