I had my first ever endoscopy for abdominal discomfort this past week. They found some gastritus and biopsied it with everything turning out okay. My question is this: Ever since I got home I have had bad heartburn and burping especially at night. The nurse said it could not relate to the procedure but I never had it before. Could anyone shed any light on this? Also, what in the world is gastritus and should I be concerned about it? What do I do for it? Thanks for your insight and help. I am really baffled.
went up to my tongue and mouth. Plus a lot of stomach pains (upper and lower). Have taken the full course of Nexium so take some Zantac 150mg. It didn't work at all... Now one week pasted. I'm still having the severe heart burn, mouth burn and tummy pain. I'm swearing, I'll never agree again to run anymore test in the future! It's not worth! Gain a pain and torture!
Let me know how you go.. You're not alone. I wish to see how many of the victim after receiving the procedure will left them with the negative aspect?
I didn't have any problems after I had the endoscopy done. I was diagnosed with gastritis--which is inflammation of the stomach lining. It can be caused by many things like bad diet, H. Pylori infection, excessive acid, etc. Usually your dr. will prescribe a PPI to cut down on the acid in your stomach and give it a chance to heal. Some also recommend avoiding spicy, greasy, hard to digest foods as well. Someone suggested to me to try the BRAT diet--bananas, rice, applesauce and toast--for a while to give the stomach a chance to heal. Do a search on gastritis, there are MANY pages that will give you the info you need.
