prolems after gall bladder removal

I had my gall bladder removed eventualy after going in and out of hosp 4 times over approx. 2yrs,my tubes were blocked with grit and coagulated bile, wich made the gall bladder swell up,and major surgery was required, about 6 months later i got acute pancreatitis witch developed into physodo cyst and i had to have surgery 80% of my pancreas was removed.I am now on insulin with all the problems diabetes causes.I do not drink or smoke and never have done. Was this caused by not taking the gall bladder out early enough and/or not making sure my tubes were clear afterwards.I feel badly treated as i have always been fit and look after my health,do you think their is a case for neglect?

Yes I'm a lapdog for the AMA and get paid big bucks to promote Lap. GB surgery on cyberspace. It really did work out well for me and I really had some reservations before.

INSIST THAT THE DOCTOR REMOVE THE CLIPS LEFT BEHIND!if the doctor insist that there are not any clips get your xrays and show the doctor.if the doctor says that the clips cause no problems googl search (clips migrating into bile duct)and or (lithasis from clips after laparascopic cholecesctomy).go to health food store and buy milk thistle to keep liver enymes down.if you have stones backed up behind clips which you probabbly do buy some stone free from health food store.go on a vegeterian diet or mostly vegeterian diet because stones are caused from cholesterol from meat or saturated fat.keep your medical records and research all the blood values and you will be able to use that against them.be strong and persistant and DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THEIR GUINEA PIGGING PEOPLE FOR THEIR MEDICAL ADVANCEMENTS.if they do remove your clips by ercp(mechanical devices they put down your throat)INSIST THAT THEY DO NOT LEAVE ANY STENTS IN YOUR BILE DUCT OR PANCREAS.google(occluded bile stent after ercp).good luck and do not listen to mr.lucky66 on this posting he seems to be a lapdog for the american medical assoc.

Thanks for your reply and concern.i have recovered quite well, but i was fit before and this helped.I still believe that if the NHS had operated the first time i had gall bladder trouble, witch is the most excrutiating pain, instead of leaving it untill it became an emergency i may not have had the further problems,ie.preventertive surgery which in the long run would save a lot of money/time and me a better quality of life.

Because the pancreatic and bile duct both share the Common Bile duct before emptying into the small intestine, people do sometimes develop pancreatitis as a result of gallstones, or sludge, in the duct.  Nobody but God can say what length of time before treatment is "too long" as some people's symptoms are just more severe than others.  If you are asking about legal liability, I doubt you have any kind of a case at all, but an attorney would be able to tell you for certain.

It's just a crying shame that people with pancreatitis are looked on as "bad" people simply because the disease usually crops up in severe alcoholics.  Yeah, that kind of behavior is supposedly medically unprofessional, but it happens as you already know.  Plenty of people with lung cancer who have never smoked get the same treatment.

I am so sorry you ended up with the pancreatic psuedo cyst and really hope you at least have decent pain management treatment.  I have a friend who had the same problem as you, and also had a great deal of her pancreas removed.  It took several months and two surgeries and nearly losing her life, but she made it and is now pretty darn close to normal.  I hope you also will have the same eventual outcome.
