rectal discharge

by Anndi_S, Nov 29, 2001 12:00AM
My husband has had a strange mucous discharge from his rectum when he passes gas.  It has happened twice now.  I swear it looks like he blew his nose in his underwear.  The mucous is yellow-green with some blood streaks.  Anyone have any ideas????

You should DEFINATELY get him to a doctor.  It could be something as minor as hemmorhoids, or it could be some kind of infection.  Another possibility is colitis.  Has he been on any antibiotics lately?  If its colitis from antibiotics, it won't go away without treatment.  Colitis causes ulcerations on the colon, and symptoms of this can be a *****, mucus discharge from the anus, and blood is definately a symptom as well.  Good luck!!
