by NGB50, Oct 11, 2009 11:45AM
my daughter (17 years old) had gastrtis this summer.  it was effectively treated with nexium.  she appears to be having a recurrence (1 month post completion of her tx).  What might be causing this and can she go on nexium again?

This discussion is related to what is causing recurrent gastritis ?.

Was she found to have H. pylori and was that treated?

One month of a PPI may not be enough to knock out the gastritis. In addition, if someone comes off of PPIs abruptly, they can experience rebound reflux which can be miserable. If she goes on nexium again, make sure the next time she comes off in a slow and controlled fashion.
