I have had this before and it went away... I did not eat very good today and experiencing the same discomfort. I would go see a Doctor if it get's worse but I would try alot of liquids and making sure that he eats well and it should go away. I have gotten tested before and nothing was found. I will post if I find more but there is many cases on egg smelling burps and everything is differnent can make a person go nuts reading all that :O) take care
I am no doctor but i know i started getting the rotten egg burps at age 13. I would get the burps a day before i would have a flare up with what i know now as IBS. I would get the burps the day before and then that night i would be awaking out of a dead sleep with the most severe pain and bloating in my stomach and also cramping and explosive diarrhea. I am actually having the burps as i right this and going back to the GI doctor today. Well wish you luck.
I suffered from the exact same symptoms weekly (and really thought I was alone in this!) since I was a small child. Rotten Egg Burps (the WORST part) followed by nausea, severe cramps, vomiting, diarrea (diarrhea), the works. Only after throwing up everything I'd ever eaten in my entire life would it go away eventually. Doctors never knew what was wrong and there's still nothing much online about the cause of this illness. After logging what I ate for quite a while, we figured out that the common
denominator was RED DYE #40! I am an adult now who will not eat anything anywhere that even has the possibility of having the dye unless I can read ingredients (which is a TON of stuff, people! ...even some "white" things like coffee creamer packets and such...take a look at things and you'll be amazed) and I hardly, if ever, get this illness anymore. (knock on wood!) I go YEARS without being sick all because I simply avoid Red Dye #40. Just a suggestion because it's worked for me! Hope this helps some of you out there...
I'm just having them now after vomiting and diaharrea days back - those egg burps. When i got these in india, i too a drug called "flagyl" and this stopped the burps, and the painful
OK. Had them the last two days. Read and read and read about what it could be. Saw two post of people who said to take Pepto Bismol. Most of the research I saw said that the most likely cause was Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) which is the bacteria responsible for most ulcers and many cases of stomach inflammation (chronic gastritis). Well low and behold, the active ingredient in Pepto Bismol actually kills this germ.
So I went out at 4 am and bought the MAX strength which is 525mg per tsp of the active ingredient Bismuth Subsalicyate. I took a dose and a half and it took about an hour for it to fully kick in, but it actually worked! I had one bowel movement and the gas burps slowly but surely dissipated. NOTE* As soon as I took the medicine, the burp taste changed from eggs to more neutral. Also do not let children take this drug.
Hi, I am a mother of 5 children and within this last year my children and I have been having these "sour burps" as we call them. Usually we have nausea and some of them end up throwing up. It comes and goes but seems to make its rounds through the family except my husband who has been over in Iraq. My littlest one who is18mo. has them today and has thrown up two nights in a row and not very long ago at a resturant, unfortunately. She seeems fine during the day, although her appetite isn't the greatest and she has no fever. I also noticed that we have been getting sick with colds and such a lot this year. Also, about a month and a half ago someone suggested we check for carbon monoxide so we bought a detecter because the place we a renting doesn't have one and sure enough it went off while using our oven. We had the gas company come out and they found 900ppm coming from the oven. So our landlord got us another oven but we still didn't seem that much better and still having the burps and feeling sickish. Then one evening after being outside most of the day doing yard work I came in and could smell gas slightly. We found out the stove had been leaking natural gas into our home. Ironically, Myself and the two younger ones seem to be having the most problems but we are home all day, whereas the other kids are at school. It had been 9mo. for the carbonmonoxide exposure and a little over a month for the gas exposure. It has been only a couple of months since the leak has been fixed, but I know I personally feel quite a bit better. But considering my littlest one is sick today maybe it is something else. We plan to take her to a doctor and see what they say. I'll let you know if they find anything useful!
