salmonella

I'm considering having my gallblader removed as a cure from being a salmonella carrier.
How long would this take?
Is this the best my to sort this problem? As Im employed in the food industry.

Diarrhea is probably due to bile acids, which are now constantly delivered into your intestine, and maybe are not completely absorbed in small intestine, as they should be, but reach the large intestine where they provoke diarrhea. Speak with your doctor about these possibilities:
- taking probiotics (these are bacteria, which would maybe be able to break down some excessive bile acids)
- cholestyramine - a drug which binds bile acids
- diet - an experienced nutritionist would know. You can also search online for: diet after gallbladder removal .

I just had my baIlblader removed and I don't recommend it. It has been 3 weeks now and I can sleep on my right side without pain. Also I love to eat and now it is a nervous thing for me. Most food give me diarrhea and makes me feel stuff. Think twice about doing it.

I recommend you to ask a specialist about possibility to eradicate salmonella with antibiotics and keeping gallblader.

Having no gallbladder causes, that bile is constantly delivered into your intestine, which could cause diarrhea, and would need some drugs, which binds excessive bile acids. That drug can have side effects. Gallblader removal doesn't eraditate salmonella in 100%. This are only my thoughts, I'm not saying what's better, just to be aware of the problem.
