Stomach pain -
Severe stomach pain around belly button. Stomach gurgles and nausea occurs. Feeling that throwing up will help. Have taken laxitives and antacids. Helps but not that much. Seems to occur after eating.
What can I do? Please help.

Upper GI disease should be evaluated for.  An upper endoscopy or upper GI series can be considered to look for GERD, an ulcer, or inflammation of the stomach, esophagus or small bowel.  I would also obtain tests for H Pylori.

These options can be discussed with a GI physician.  If GERD or an ulcer is present, PPI's can be considered.

If the tests are negative, imaging with a CT scan can be done.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.

I am a 19yr old female and i am having the same pain as you and nobody can seem to figure out the problem, i have had my galbladder removed in december and my pain went away for a while but just last week it came back again, it was a stabbing buring pain in my upper abdominal area. I did not have any greasy or fatty foods as far as i could remember. I have tryed to eat better since i have had it taken out and i have done good, a small fall through every once in a while but i dont eat at fast food resturants or go out to eat anyplace that much and if i do i get a salad or something. Anyways my point being the emergency room had put me on a clear liquid diet for a couple of days to see if i would get better. Well a week later and im still on the clear diet and i can only have toast, crackers and rice because anything else i eat i get horrid stomach crapms and burning pains. what would be causing this pain? i am going to see my pcp tomorrow morning to see what she has to say but what is going on with me? And why so young??

I've had the same pains since I was pregnant with my daughter 4 years ago. I get the  pains In my back and upper abdomen and it seems to shift from one to the other. I get the pains at least twice a week. It makes me very nauseous. The pains last for hours at a time and seems to happen a couple of hours after I eat dinner. Always happens at night. The only way to relieve the pains is to force myself to throw up. Sometimes the pain is so bad I don't have to force it up. It's honestly worse than child birth and I didn't take any pain relievers for that. I haven't seen a doctor about it because I am afraid of the outcome.. I'm only 23 years old, and this kind of thing scares me. If anyone knows what this is..?... Please Help Me!

To: hi guys,
pain is in the area of the stomach, halfway between the bottom of rib cage and the belly button.  it is often severe and gnawing.  it also radiates to my back in the area by my kidney next to my spine (on the right side).  i have been tested for h.pylori (neg.), get little relief from painkillers, have had colon and endoscopies, am taking all supplements for an ulcer which help a bit.  i have had mri's in that area and ultrasounds.  i am thin, eliminated any food on the suggested lists, increased my water intake, decreased my caffeine and am at wits end.  it has been a year.  in the very low spine i have severely degenerated facets and have gotten steroid shots for that.  don't take ibubrofen or aspirin.  any ideas?  with sincere gratitude for reading this lengthy message, lisa
