should i be scared?? diagnosed

i was just diagnosed with barretts esophagus, how serious is this? they did a biopsy and i'm waiting to find out if it is cancerous yet or not. i'm kind of worried, dont know what to expect. anybody with experience with this can put my mind at ease?

With only a 5-10 percent chance of developing cancer I would not be "scared", just cautious; and make sure you get checked out regularly and keep the acid reflux under control.
