side effects from reglan?

I was diagnosed with mild gastropares last year. And I was on reglan for 4 months. I stopped taking it without telling my PCP because I saw a commercial about those patients who took reglan developed tardive duskiness and I got scared of taking it. Anyway, I was taking reglan 4 times a day for 4 months. The dosage was pretty low. I cut half of 5 mg of reglan and took 2.5 mg of it 4 times a day because that's what my PCP told me to do. So I took just 10mg of it for 4 months. After I stopped taking it, I had a withdrwal symptom, sleeplessness, for about two weeks. I stopped taking the medicine for about 25 days.

Anyway, after I stopped taking it, I visited my PCP for different symptoms and told her that I stopped taking reglan. She was a little upset that I stopped taking it since she prescribed me a low dosage of the medicine and she believed that taking a low dosage of medicine shouldn't cause any bad side effects and I shouldn't stop taking it but just take 1/4 dosage of what I was taking per day so I started taking it again.

And these days I don't know why...but all of sudden I feel like I want to kill myself. The suicidal thoughts just pop up in my mind. Well, this actually happened before....before I stopped taking the medicine, which is when I was taking reglan 4 times a day. But at that time, the kind of thoughts popped up in my mind once every two weeks or so. And these days, all of sudden I imagined myself cutting my left wrist. I don't know why I imagined that and I don't know why I feel like I want to kill myself. These days, I get the suicidal thoughts more often and I feel like I'm going crazy and I just can't stand myself thinking like that.

I was depressed before because of my medical conditions ( other than I have gastroparesis, I have herniated disc, syrinx, scoliosis, osteoarthritis, costochondritis and other symptoms that doctors haven't figured out yet). One point of time, I couldn't walk, use my hands and arms and now I have a difficult time to eat because of gastropresis. So it's not so strange for people like me to get depressed. I cried a lot when I couldn't walk and use my hands and arms and I got really depressed. But the depression and the suicidal thoughts that I'm experiencing these days are not like what I experienced before. It's like seriously driving me crazy. The kind of thoughts don't happen 24/7. But just one to three times a day but that doesn't happen every day but once every two to three days.

I really don't know I'm just going insane or it's from reglan. But I'm taking a low dosage of the medicine. Is it possible that taking a low dosage of medince can cause the kind of side effects?

By the way, I'm a 35 year old female, 5 feet tall, and weigh 84LB.
