slow system

slow system

Hi,
My question is: Is it possible after years of partial blockage in the small intestine, your system becomes very slow???
and that can cause problems with your whole digestive system, pancreous, byleducks, liver kidneys etc.???

My sister had the bilroth 2 operation, due to ulcer that would not heal and they were worried for cancer. She has alway complained there is something not right in her intestins, but the dr. said you cant go into the small intestine to check and tests have not shown anything. We asked to swallow the camera pill, but dr. said not a candidat for that. She became worse and almost a year later they operated again because her stomache was impacted with food and scare tissue closing the opening into intestines. She was alittle better but still complained of pain and not well for a couple years.  Getting worse slowly and starting to throw up again every month, then every few week, then now to the point of everyday, every meal this last year. She is hospitalized now for mallnutrition and they have to get her nutrition level up to operate again.
Now they say there IS a mass in her intestins and the dr, is going to put a catheter through the liver and into intestines to give releif to the bylducks and check what it is or try to remove?
My question is: IS IT POSSIBLE that if she has had this partial mass/blockage for so many year, undetected and slowly and gradually gotten totally mallnutritioned, lack of potasium levels, depression, etc. THIS can have caused her present state?
Thank-you

It's possible, almost anything is possible, unfortunately. But I would have thought that before they did the Bilroth they would have done a complete series of tests to visualized the whole of the upper GI system and the small intestines. The only way to know, would be if there were x-rays or scans or other that could be reviewed at this time to see if someone missed something years ago.
