smell bad when clean while sitting.

by Stinky, Dec 27, 2002 12:00AM
i seem to have this condition when its possible for me to smell terrible even when perfectly clean. It seems to only affect me while im sitting, but there no anal leakage, or material. Its not a gas type smell either, something entirely different. My stool tends to not be well formed, and incomplete, as well as gassy. Ive adapted my diet and supplimented with fiber, with only minor success.

ive also had this condition precisely after supplimenting with DHEA.. wondering if there could be a possible hormonal cause to this?

ive had the infamous colon camera, and general bloodwork wich yeilded no results,( still waiting on dhea test)

im wondering if this could be caused by candida infection, as i have a history of yeast infections

it seems fiber helps some, but doesnt cure the condition,

any help would be appreciated

quicker the better!

Stinky, you probably have an overgrowth of bacteria/yeast in the small intestine, [the hydrogen carried in the blood is the cause of the odour]  if your lucky it will be bacteria, yeast is more difficult to eradicate, search “small intestine bacterial overgrowth” for more info on the condition, it may well be a yeast overgrowth .Tests notably organic acid testing or metabolic profiling As detailed by Great plains laboratorys are woth considering These tests have a proven record ,as with all the tests for yeast infection getting the doctors to accept the significance of the result is the problem here.Yeast infections do deplete vitimins ,minerals & hormones ,If you need more info post.

Small Bowel Bacterial Overgrowth
This means that there are too many bacteria in the upper part of the small intestine. This leads to symptoms of bloating, pain, and diarrhea that occur immediately after eating because the bacteria in the intestine begin to consume the food in the small intestine before it can be absorbed. These bacteria give off hydrogen and other gases which cause bloating and diarrhea. Small bowel bacterial overgrowth is a result of abnormal motility in the small intestine; when the housekeeper waves do not keep the bacteria swept out because the contractions are too weak or disorganized, the bacteria grow out of control. Bacterial overgrowth is most easily detected by the hydrogen breath test: The patient drinks a sugar solution and breathes into a bag every 15 minutes for two hours. If the bacteria are present in large amounts in the small intestine, they give off hydrogen, some of which is absorbed into the blood, carried to the lungs, and breathed out where it can be detected.

I don’t mind answering questions on yeast , but I prefer to answer the questions on the open forum. No-one knows who or where you are so I wouldn’t have thought. It makes much difference .and you never know  the debate may help others

To: paj
that would make me VERY awkward...it is VERY personal...there is no way i would ever, ever, ever do that...as far as for friends on this forum i made/make they will of course know who i am ...what are you talking about that no one will know who i am?....i make friends and keep friends/get to know people very well, including who i am where i live and whatever else develops...i don't know where you are coming from on that at all
i can post my email address to you if you will help me...i posted other questions in public that can help people...this one is just for me
btw can you check my public question regarding severe abdomin (abdomen) pain if you have any ideas...i left on the 30th i think thanks

paj, I found your answer very interesting; I hope you're still around and can possibly answer this.  I have had very bad breath for at least one year-meaning it smells, to me, like a dog's bowel movement.  So you can see why I'm very embarassed to talk to anyone about this.  I was once given a metoclopromide??which was supposed to empty my stomach quicker.  It didn't work for the smell and had bad long term effects so I stopped taking it.  Now, it seems I always have flatulence and burp a lot.  I do also have a history of yeast infections and I read on this forum something about gases coming back up into the large intestine and up my throat???  Please give me any comments you may have-it would be greatly appreciated.
