Rehydration is the cornerstone of treatment. Most cases of diarrhea in children resolves on its own. There are oral rehydration solutions that are over the counter in the drug store (i.e. Pedialyte).
If the diarrhea persists, I would suggest a visit to the pediatrician, where a complete blood count and stool cultures may be helpful in the diagnosis.
