soft,smelly, rapid onset bowel movements

I have been having the strangest digestive issues for a little over a week.  I don't feel sick at all.  I feel completely normal.  However, I keep having these rapidly onset bowel movements.  I am fine one second and then I have an uncontrolable urge to do a bowel movement.  I literally have to stop what I'm doing and go.  I can't hold it.  It happens about 5-7 times/day or every 3 hours.  No matter what I eat, the same thing happens.  The bowel itself is horribly smelly and soft.  It is almost in between diarreah (diarrhea) and soft stool.  It is fairly soft as opposed to liquid.  There is a lot of gas as well and it usually explodes out in a manner like diarreah (diarrhea).  I am 29 years old, 5'10" and 180 pounds.  Is there anything you can think of.  Could I have an infection, bacterial or something?

You may want to ask your doctor to do some stool tests to see if you're experiencing either fat malabsorption or a bacterial infection. Both can cause malodorous stools. Your doc may simply listen and if he thinks it's appropriate give you some antibiotics, but with the high rate of problems that can crop up with the use of antibiotics, it might be wise to do the tests first.
