sphincter disfunction?

by KeyD, Feb 06, 2009 08:47AM
does anyone know what sphincters are associated with the gallbladder? I had my gb removed more than 2 yrs ago but have continued to get ruq pain. the pain is severe and often accompanied by nausea. the pain wakes me up at nite and is usually worse at night. the pain is not constant and is gone for weeks at a time. i saw a doctor for it and he said it was likely a spincter spasm, but he didn't say of which sphincter. i saw a gi doctor who told me to ignore the pain because it's not constant. the last three day/nites i have had several "attacks" I am thinking about a second opinion from a gi dr. but my insurance will not cover it, so i am looking for suggestions as to what could be causing these spasms. my labs have all been normal.
