Hmm thats what they are thinking for me as well, but i have lost a ton of weight, 35 lbs as the pain hurts the most after meals, as well as nausea and vomitting, so therefore unable to eat alot causing the weightloss, everyone I have spoke to says they lose weight but that doesnt mean thats for everyone. Maybe get an ERCP done to check?
I have just had my gallbladder out having been diagnosed with SOD. This is the first step in getting healed. My pain is intermittant at the moment. Today has not been a good day but I will tell you I am still studying things. I was told I could get pancreatitus from the surgery on the sphincter. I am concerned if the cure is worse than the disease. The gallbladder never hurt but Dr. found it distended and scarred. The pain has been a 5 year journey. Nothing ever showed up in tests. I just had a pinch just right under my rib cage. Then all of a sudden it popped up in my blood work I had a liver or gallbladder problem. read, read, and read. Then make an educated answer. Good Luck!
You do not have to have weight loss for SOD. I have it and have gained weight in the last 6 months. Have you had an ercp done?
