Did you have surgery possibly just before this problem started? I just posted a 'gastritis: diet' post on this forum which tells my story. I understand that they use gas inside the stomach cavity when doing certain surgeries such as appendix removal. I also was told that many antibiotics were pumped into my IV after surgery. This likely killed off much good bacteria and let the bad take over. I take acidophilus daily, as well as eat yogurt to bring more 'good' bacteria into the picture and battle the bad. I also avoid sugars as much as possible, as I understand sugar feeds the bad bacteria. I still look 4 months pregnant!
I was tested for celiac disease and C. diff, also. I had a CT scan that was normal before my surgery except for the ruptured appendix. My stool samples were normal.
I'm fairly new on my bland diet--just started last week, but so far no major change in the bloating part, though I feel a bit better (most of the time) as far as pain, but eating is certainly 'touchy.' I hope you find answers soon!
If you've have this problem for 8 years I think you need an endoscopy, a CT scan, a RAST blood test, a blood test for celiac disease and many other things.
No, I had other testing but goes back to long time ago probably 5 or 6 years ago. I don't remember what testing I have done. This is the recent one about a month ago. Are there any other testing that would help diagnosis?
Was that the only testing besides a stool sample that you have had in 8 years?
I think he had me to test for Helicobacter pylori. but the result was negative.
