stomach pain

I have had this stomach pain for im pretty sure a few yrs.. I just had my third endoscopy in may.. My pain comes on very quickly and leaves very quickly, although lately its lasting a bit longer. Its right in the very middle where the v part of your stomach is very high up. Feels like someone is cutting my gut into with a broken piece of glass. The gastronologist says i have gastritis in my entire stomach its red and inflamed and the lower third of the espohegeaus as well. I have a 1cm hital hernia.. I just went to my reg doc again for this on thurs he just says its my colon like spasms.. I have had ultra sound of all the stomach area also a hida scan for gallbladder. noone has an answer for me. I was taking rantidine but that made my stomach feel worse but different worse. does anyone have any ideas what this might be.. My blood work showed my liver enzymes good lipase and almayse on lower end of normal which i understand is good my billiruben is on lower end as well. Im worried it may be my pancreas and that scares me.. Help anyone..
Thanks

Hi there!

The pain that you describe could be caused by gastritis or intermittent GI spasms as well, though the location would be more in favour of gastritis. Since most other tests have been normal another way of differentiation would be to note, if antacids or antispasmodic (non-NSAIDS, in the situation of gastritis) help in providing a relief. Also since ranitidine does not seem to work in your case, I would suggest discussing with your doctor if other medications like proton-pump inhibitors would be beneficial in your case.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
