Hello:  I also have sphincter of Oddi dysfunction for years over 10 years.  After suffering for years with repeatedly ERCPs to correct  the bile ducts strictures and the sphincter and hospitalized several times.  My gastroentorologist referred me to a Liver Transplant Surgeon and they are finally doing a surgery to correct this problem.  the sphincterectomy that the gastroentorologist perform is just a basic cut of the sphincter of oddi this does not correct the problem.  Now my sphincter is going to be sawn open.  The name of the surgery is long.  I will be in the hospital for a minimum of 3 days but it could be up to 5 days.  I will let you know how I feel afterwards.  Bye for now

pancreatits is a progressive thing, and from what i understand meds dont realy work on it too much...sorry
you have to watch what you eat,,eat less, and possibly get on some enzymes to help digest your food and let your pancreas rest!!
you need a good gastro doc,and you need to follow i stricked regament.
pancreatitis is a very, very serious problem, and everything possible to calm it down/control it has to bo done if you plan on being around past the next 5-7 years.
