stomach pain

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this or not, but here goes.
My husband is laying in bed with severe stomach pain and refuses to go to ER...he says "it's the stomach flu...eveyone has it"
My concern is this...he had this for 1 day in November, another on Christmas day that lasted 30 hours, and again today....it woke him up at about 1 am and been hurting since. Now he says it's getting better.
The only other symptoms are chills...no nasea, no diarrahea, no fever............so could this really be the flu or something more that should be looked into?

I've been having sever stomach pains for the past 4 months. I chalked them up to stress. I've changed to a more healthy diet, but the pain still comes at random. Nausa is included  with a sharp pain in the middle, and in my lower back. I usually treat with blue Ice/Hot, and heating pad, and tylonal until the pain subsides which is sometimes for a couple of days.   Yes a doctors visit is needed. However, with just recently losing my position health benefits is not in my picture :(

Make him an appointment with a gi dr.  These are the symptoms I had.  I have chrons and really didn't have any pain at first.  Just back ache and the ocasional episode of chills fever that left me week for a day.  Then back to normal.
Then the pain came, lower right (but it could be anywhere).
I ended up with a fistula and had to have bowel resection.  Life has been great since then except for the diarrhea.   But I can live with that since the pain, chills and fever are gone.

Good luck

Does it hurt after he eats, like 30 minutes or so after? Where exactly is the pain? I had really bad symptoms like that and it turned out I had gallstones. Looking back my first attack was in 05 then I didn't have one until i became pregnant in 06. Last year they became more frequent and I ended up having my gallbladder taken out when I went to the ER. They say that the attacks mimic a heart attack. Well I hope he feels better and hope that it is nothing is serious and that my advice helps in some way!

has he been drinking any fluids, running a fever, he should ingest plenty of water and the clear gatorade...lemon lime i believe that will help rehydrate him...also try getting dannon activia it could be a lack of GI Flora...if it doesnt help go to the ER hay will probably need a blood test to onfirm that it isnt something serious
