I am 27 and male, never had any real health problems before, went to asia this summer, Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia. while in Indonesia starting August 12th I got a pain in my lower right side of my abdomen, i had the pain for about a month it mostly felt like a cramp like the kind i used to get when i was a kid and ran too much. I was having irregular bowel movements but not diarrhea, at least not until 2 weeks of the pain, then I had about 5 days of the worst diarrhea I had ever experienced, it pretty much took a lot out of me, even when i drank water i had to go to the toilet 2 minutes later, and all i could do is sleep, food seemed awful to me.
on a side note i lost about 15lbs since the beginning of the pain, my appetite has slowly come back now though and i can finally eat full meals.
But now, its been about 6 weeks since the beginning of this ordeal and my stomach is still not right, the pain is gone finally, but I have noises and twitches going on in my stomach pretty much through-out my day and at night it really kicks up into full force. I have noticed there are noises everywhere in my stomach but i do notice more in my lower right side where i had the pain. I dont know whats wrong with me, i saw a doctor in Indonesia who took blood and urine
, and kidney stones, saw my doctor here in the states and he seems to think i "HAD" parasites and my body is just getting over it and it will go away in time, but he didnt do any tests. I am considering seeing a GI because these noises and movements inside of me keep me up at night quite regularly, and I really feel this isnt going to go away on its own, i hope its nothing major.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Is going to see a GI my right move?
