my 18 year old son is currently hospitalized for the second time in 6 months for stomach problems. He has vomiting, which is acid, and or foam, pain in the upper left side of his belly. Said its a gnawing, burning feeling, pushing on it makes him feel like throwing up. He just had a scope procedure done and they found 5 or 6 red, raw areas of his stomach. No ulcers though. They are giving him protonix, omeprazole, carafat, and phenegran. For some reason they seem to think its h-pylori even though the tests were negative. They are sure its a bacterial infection..but can't seem to get the vomiting under control..oh they are giving morphine for pain.
Does anyone have any suggestions or similar symptoms...he has been hospitalized at Rady's Childrens Hosp. since Friday, almost a week. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...
This first started 6 months ago after 14 days he was fine, still was taking prilosec. Then it all started again one week ago, just not as severe. They have done xrays, blood work, endoscopy twice, h-pylori test. We are currently waiting for the results of the biopsy, they will be in tomorrow. He is just so miserable...need to find out whats causing all this...any help is appreciated,,,thank you so much for your time..
