strange bowel movements

I am a 56 year old female.  About 2 weeks ago, I started having a bowel movement without knowing it once a day.  My other bowel movements would be long and about the shape of my largest finger.  After about 5 days of bowel movements without knowing, the long finger shaped movements continued for a few more days.  Since then, they are the same shape, just not long, but in 2-3" pieces.  I have a bowel movement everytime I urinate.  Most of my life, my bowel movements have occured only once every 3-4 days and would be very hard.  I have no idea what is going on.  Can you help?
