sudden onset of lower abdominal pain

I am a 33 year old who has had both her appendix(childhood) and gaulbladder (6 months ago)removed.  I just got over my period a couple of days ago and have stomach pain behind my belly button that at first felt like menstral cramps but now feels like a bruise.  It feels like a bruise when I touch the area, when I bend over etc.  It started yesterday and has not gotten any better today.  I took tylonal but it didn't have an effect on the pain.
Any idea what it could be?

Maybe a hernia.

Are you running a fever? Have you had any change in bowel habits? Or anything that you would describe as 'symptoms?'
