swelling of ankles.

by lyn_ar_2001, Jan 07, 2002 12:00AM
I too have cysts in my liver. I was operated on 2 months tomorrow to deroof a huge liver cyst in my right liver lobe.I also had 3 biopsies done of my liver
I have noticed that my left ankle seems a bit swelled all the time. It never goes down. And when I push in on it ,it doesnt leave an indention.
The surgeon examined me before surgery and felt of my ankles. I was wondering also if it could be related to my liver.
The lady that is a nurse, have you heard of polycystic liver disease? I did not have cysts in the kidneys when I had my cat scan and ultra sound. Only in the liver.
I had a lot of pain with the huge cyst. It pushed on my rib cage and when the surgeon drained it, he told my husband he removed a quart of fluid. I have lost some weight due to the cyst pressing on my stomach., and my side feels better since it was drained.
However, my liver area is still very touchy and pain now and then. There is no cure for this disease, I was told.
I havent been much help, but had to post, as this is so rare and I have been looking for someone who has this disease.
Maybe yours are simple cysts?
Have a nice day.
