temorary colostomy bag

Can anyone give me info on having a temp bag and what to expect and will I have to wear certain clothes to cover so no one can tell any info would help thanks.

Are you having a colon resection?  I had a colon resection in 2004 and carried a temp bag for 3 months and it took me at least 1.5 months to get used to it.  You should not have much difficulty other than you are not able to control your bowel movements or farts.  Not trying to sound gross but that is just the fact.

Dont eat cabbage as it will stain your bag.  I wore loose fitting clothing and it did cover my bag fairly well.  Good luck.

no I am having my colon and rectum removed and my small intestine they will use to remake and conect everything but they said there is a possibility that I will have a bag for 6 to 8 weeks. How many times did you have to empty the bag and are the farts loud or noticable to others.

i recenctly in the past week have had a partial colectomy with a temp colostomy . eberything seemed to be going finew until my bloods came back today sowing more inflamation (inflammation). i had the colectomy due to numerous abcesses in the colon. any one experienced same
